"An ounce of practice is generally worth more than a ton of theory."

If You Can't Make a Practice

Tell the coaches ahead of time, and ask what you can do to make it up.

Be Early

Coaches love the swimmers who are early and can help prepare the practice. They are the ones who will be future coaches.

Temperature

If the air temperature is under 60, the coaches might cancel practice. But unless you hear otherwise plan for practice. On cold mornings it's a good idea to bring Dryland gear.

Dryland

Some practices will include non-swimming activities, known as Dryland -- cardiovascular, flexibility and strength activities. Bring gym shoes and appropriate clothes.

Swimsuit

Don't wear the team suit to practices. The chlorine in the pool eats away at suits, so save the team suit for meets.

Bicycles

Kids can ride their bikes to practice, and park them inside the fence. Bring a lock.
