13-year old
& older practices run Monday
thru Friday, from 6:15 to 8:00am. Swimmers need
to be at the pool at 6:15am to help put in
the lane lines and warm up. Practice starts
promptly at 6:30am.
12-year olds &
under practices run Monday
thru Friday, from 7:45-9:00am. Younger
swimmers will have time to stretch and get
help with caps/goggles, and will be in the
water at 8:00am.
PRACTICES ARE MANDATORY!
The coaches will take attendance each
morning. This helps us to keep track of
swimmers during practice and to determine
which events swimmers will compete in at
meets.
To minimize distractions during
practice, parents will not be allowed on the
pool deck.
The coaches encourage swimmers to attend
practice daily, but swimmers must
attend a minimum of two practices each week
in order to swim in meets.
Coordinating a meet line-up for a large
swim team can be difficult if swimmers are
unexpectedly absent or show up to the meet
unanticipated. Changing the line-up on the
day of a meet is not fair to the swimmers or
coaches. So, please be aware of the
following rules that the coaches will
enforce during the 2011 swim season:
- Swimmers are required to attend two
practices per week in order to be
entered into dual meets. Coaches will
scratch swimmers from meets if they
havbe not attended the required two
practices without previously notifying
coaches via email.
- Swimmers should bring a water bottle
and gym shoes (not sandals) to every
practice in case of a dry-land practice.
Not having proper footwear will not
exempt a swimmer from participating in
dry-land practices.
- Meet Availability and Code of
Conduct forms were due to the coaching
staff on 5.25.2011.
Any swimmers who
have not turned these forms to the
coaches will not be entered into any
meets until they are properly completed
and turned in. Any changes to the meet
availability forms must be submitted via
email to the coaches by each Friday at
3pm for the following Wednesday meet and
Tuesday at 3pm for the following
Saturday meet.
- Swimmers/parents may email foreseen
absence information to
bartlettswimteam@gmail.com.
- All swimmers are expected to be in
the water by the assigned time and must
participate in putting in or taking out
lane lines.
- In the case of an unexpected absence
on a meet day (i.e. sickness, car
trouble), the swimmer or parent should
email the coaches at
bartlettswimteam@gmail.com as soon
as possible. Please identify the date of
absense in the subject line of your
email.
