Coaches' Notes:
Welcome to the Bartlett Barracuda Swim
Team website.
We are a park district team that
competes against other park district
swim teams in DuPage County.
We promote good sportsmanship and
team building.
Parents must volunteer and
actively participate in meets, however
we are a friendly and welcoming group
and run fun meets.
If you are interested in joining the
team, here are a few things to consider:
While the 2012 season is still being
planned, Registration day typically is
in April.
Information is shared at this
time, team apparel and team suits are
offered to purchase as well.
Due to the size of the team,
orders must be placed prior to the swim
season for the apparel to arrive in time
for the first meet.
While 2012 dates have not been
determined, 2011 orders had to be placed
by 4/30/2011.
At the time of registration,
parents must also provide their
availability as to helping out at meets.
Our mandatory Parent Meeting is usually
on a Wednesday evening toward the end of
May.
At this meeting, you will receive
your volunteer assignments and the
latest team information.
You will have the opportunity to
have your questions answered and meet
the head coach and other park district
staff.
Again, while the 2012 season has not
been planned, practices usually start
when the outdoor pool opens, the Tuesday
after Memorial Day.
While swimmers are still in
school, practices are in the evenings.
Once U-46 students are on summer
break, practices are held in the early
morning.
Information will be posted once
confirmed by the Bartlett Park District.
The Bartlett Barracudas are a park
district team.
Program decisions are determined
by the Coaches and Park District
personnel.
We will share that information
with you as it is given to us.
The Barracuda Parent Board is a group of
five people who help facilitate the
season and strive to give your swimmers
the best experience possible.
Please reach out to a Board
Member to ask questions and make your
wishes known.
New families especially, are encouraged
to reach out.
A lot of information is shared at
the beginning of the season, and may be
confusing for those new to the team.
Most correspondence is done via
email as well as website updates.
Be sure to supply the park
district with your current email address
to be sure you are added to our
distribution list.
And please, never be afraid to
ask questions - even if you have a lot
of them.
The first few meets of the first
season are sometimes confusing, however
the swimmer usually has so much fun,
they return year after year. Subsequent
seasons are a breeze!
Please peruse our website and contact us
if you have any questions!
We hope to see you in April!
